It’s getting cold outside and nothing is better than sitting by a fire and sipping a hot chocolate. But when your keto, you don’t have to miss out on this traditionally sugary drink. Here is our sugar free version of a hot chocolate ketofied for your enjoyment.

Ingredients:

Hot chocolate:

  • 1 packet of Fire Team Whiskey SpecOps Keto Joe Shake powder

  • 1/4 cup (13.5-oz) coconut milk, unsweetened or heavy cream (unsweetened)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 3/4 cup of water

    Whipped cream:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. In a small-sized saucepan, pour in the coconut milk or heavy cream and heat over medium heat. When it starts to form bubbles on the top layer, add in the water, the SpecOps Shake powder and vanilla extract while stirring with a whisk until combined. Add in the cocoa powder and continue stirring to incorporate completely. When blended thoroughly, take off burner and pour into a mug.

  2. In a separate bowl, blend the heavy cream at medium-low speed until soft peaks form. Add vanilla extract and continue beating until stiff peaks form and you have a thick whipped cream.

  3. Top hot chocolate with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon. If you prefer a little more sweetness, we suggest adding monk fruit or stevia drops to taste. The Lekanto brand chocolate monk fruit drops are a great addition to this keto hot chocolate!

  4. The recipe makes 1 cup.
